SUPERMARKET chain Wm Morrison is worth a gamble at 191½p ahead of this week's update on first-quarter trading.

The grocer has finally recovered from its problematic takeover of Safeway and it is set to unveil a new chief executive who will be charged with introducing sweeping changes to revive the company and improve margins.

Shares in advertising group Aegis will rise if French investor Vincent Bollore mounts a takeover bid for the company in which he already holds a 27.6% stake.

Shares closed at 135¼p on Friday but according to Deutsche Bank could go as high as 165p to 170p if a takeover is launched.

Packaging and distribution firm Macfarlane is one of the best buys in the logistics sector at 42p.

Macfarlane is thought to be a takeover story waiting to happen but that aside the earnings and dividend outlook make it an attractive prospect.

SEMICONDUCTOR designer Cyan Holdings is an undiscovered and undervalued gem at 16½p as it looks to replicate the success of giants such as Texas Instruments, CSR and Wolfson with its market-leading microcontroller chips.
