Parry takes post at YouGov

This article is more than 17 years old

Roger Parry, former chief executive of Clear Channel, is to become the non-executive chairman of the online polling and research business YouGov.

The appointment comes just a few months after Mr Parry put himself in the frame for the chief executive's job at ITV.

Mr Parry will take up the YouGov post on April 26. It will be his fourth non-executive chairmanship: he also holds the position at regional newspaper group Johnston Press, magazine company Future and mobile content business Mobile Streams.

YouGov said its current chairman, Peter Kellner, would assume the role of president after Mr Parry's appointment, and remain a non-executive director.

The company is now valued at £125m, less than two years after it was floated for just £18m.

YouGov's business, founded in 2000 by Nadhim Zahawi and Stephan Shakespeare, had revenues of £9.5m and pre-tax profits of £4.1m last year.

Peter Bazalgette, the chief creative officer of TV production giant Endemol, is also one of the company's non-executive directors.
