SpaceandPeople, the Scottish company that markets and sells promotional space on behalf of shopping centres and other venues, posted a 24% increase in pre-tax profits and raised its dividend by 23% for the year ended October 31, 2007.
The Glasgow-based firm, which operates in the UK and overseas, lifted turnover for 2007 by 9% to £2.1m from £1.93m.
Chairman David Henderson-Williams described the results as "excellent" and told shareholders that 2008 will be another year of "strong growth".
He added: "The management has continued to generate enhanced revenue from its core UK portfolio, currently comprising 70 conventional shopping centres, supplemented by additional high footfall venues such as Madame Tussauds that are ideally suited for promotional use."
The company said it would pay a dividend of 1.85p a share, up from 1.5p previously. Earnings per share rose to 3.6p from 3.1p.
The company hopes to do more business in mainland Europe, particularly in France and Germany.
SpaceandPeople describes itself as an independently financed company that has no tie-ins with either property or media groups.
The firm recently won "Best Small Business" at the Scottish Enterprise E-Business Awards and were highly commended in the business to business category of the New Media Age Effectiveness Awards.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
