RM - a provider of IT for schools - has been viewed with caution recently as fears mount that Government spending cutbacks may hit its primary market.

But the group is expanding outside of its traditional product area, as well as internationally, which is yet to be factored into its share price.

The next general election is also set to see education come back to the forefront once more, with whichever party that succeeds unlikely to slash spending, which should bode well for RM.

It saw its revenues rise 21% to £141.9m in the six months to March 31, reassured there had been no evidence of spend reductions yet amid the recession.

The group's expansion plans have meanwhile seen its diversify into educational software, electronic whiteboards and other devices, while it has also moved into US markets.

With a respectable amount cash in the bank and yield on the shares, the stock is seen as a buy.
