Profits wrapped up for Greetings

GIFTWRAP and cards designer International Greetings gave investors an early Christmas present yesterday with sparkling half-year figures.

The company posted a 110 per cent rise in profits from continuing businesses to £2.1million on 13 per cent higher sales at £104.5million, while debts were reduced by 15 per cent to £86.4million.

Chief executive Paul Fineman said trading conditions would remain challenging but there was considerable scope to benefit from cross-selling and cost-saving across the group.
