Savers help lift profits for Park

AUSTERITY is making more people set aside money for Christmas, savings and vouchers firm Park Group said yesterday.

It enjoyed a 37 per cent jump in Christmas savings to £5.8million as customers fretting about their jobs or struggling to get credit saved to ensure a happy festive season.

The average amount saved rose by 6.9 per cent to £401. Park, which also sells vouchers to business, said revenues leapt 49 per cent to £50.9million in the half year to September. It made profits of £1million on improved performance and VAT rebate.
