TMT hopes to turn minnows into sharks

AN INVESTMENT firm hoping to strike deals in the telecoms, media and technology sectors joined Aim last week after raising £13million.

TMT Investments, which is incorporated in Jersey, is targeting small to medium sized companies on a global basis.

But it is expected to focus on Russia and its neighbours, where the directors have most experience.

TMT has been advised by ZAI Corporate Finance. The company is led by Alexander Selegenev, the former head of corporate finance at Metropol UK, an affiliate of Russian broker IFC Metropol.

Selegenev is seeking companies that have the potential to grow into sizeable multi-nationals.

TMT is looking to make at least three investments over the next 18 months, involving at least £160,000 a time. It plans to take stakes large enough to block interest from potential rivals.

The firm said it might also consider making some investments in public companies.
