888 in play as rivals make approaches
The online gaming group 888 Holdings is set to reveal that it has received a number of takeover approaches, including an early stage proposal from Ladbrokes.
FTSE 250-listed Ladbrokes, which appointed Richard Glynn as its chief executive earlier this year, first tried to buy 888 in 2006, but walked away owing to a US Department of Justice crackdown on online gaming companies.
888 Holdings declined to comment last night.
