888 boosted as Ladbrokes tie-up talks go on
888 reported better than expected fourth quarter sales as it said takeover talks with Ladbrokes continue.
The internet gambling firm (up 0.75p to 44.5p) posted an 18% rise in operating income to £44m for the final quarter of 2010 following the success of an advertising campaign featuring former Australian international cricketer Shane Warne.
Bookmaker Ladbrokes revealed in December it was in talks to buy 888 following reports it had offered £240m for the company.
