Hogg's business travellers back on the road

Corporate travel firm Hogg Robinson hailed the resurgence of the globe-trotting businessman, as its shares made strong gains.

The firm rose 2.75p to 47.25p as it reported travel bookings up 15% since November, when it announced half-year profits of £15.3m before tax, while clients have spent 15% more compared to last year.

Heavy snow caused minimal disruption to the company, many of whose clients turned to the bespoke service to help bring them home.

Net debt has been on average £14m below last year during the past four months, while the firm's pension deficit is down £40m to £105m.
