888 boss Gigi Levy quits

Gigi Levy, chief executive of online gaming firm 888 Holdings, has stepped down 'to pursue other interests'.

The 39-year-old, who became top dog of the Gibraltar-based group in 2007, will stay on to assist in the handover to his successor, for whom the search is underway.

'Gigi has left the company well positioned for the future', a spokesman for 888 said yesterday.

Meanwhile, takeover talks with bookmaker Ladbrokes are continuing.
