Luxury profit for Walker Greenbank

High-end furnishings and fabrics group Walker Greenbank saw profits nearly triple on rising demand for luxury goods.

The owner of brands including Sanderson and Zoffany said full year earnings jumped to £4.5m from £1.6m a year ago as it was upbeat about the year ahead.

It increased its final dividend 60% to 0.8p, taking its full year dividend to 0.95p.

Sales also rose 8pc in the first ten weeks of the year, bucking a broadly slumping retail sector. Shares (up 0.38p to 51.38p) have gained 67% over the past year in response to a resilient market.
