Character Group shows strong results
Children's toys firm Character Group defied the consumer slowdown with a strong set of half-time results.
Pre-tax profits leapt by 78% to £6.64m between September and February thanks to healthy sales of its Zhu Zhu Pets range and some new Dr Who kit.
However, executive chairman Richard King warned that revenues were set to slow in the second half of its financial year because of the 'difficulties being experienced at the retail level'.
The company (up 8p to 201p) lifted its interim dividend by 50% to 3.0p a share.
