BAE Systems wins US army contract
Arms giant BAE Systems has won a £34m contract to provide thermal sights that will help the US Army 'detect, observe and engage the enemy'.
Britain's biggest defence company said the deal was part of its strategy to ramp up its expertise in 'electronic systems', after buying two companies that specialise in thermal weapon sights.
BAE spent £180m on OASYS Technology last year and £52m on Fairchild Imaging in January, to help feed the US Army's thirst for ever more advanced weapons systems.
