Standard Life in pay deal row
Standard Life has come under fire over the 'excessive' pay deals recently awarded to senior management.
Pressure group PIRC urged investors to vote against the investment giant's remuneration report after handing one executive bonuses potentially worth more than seven times his basic salary.
Pirc said: 'We consider that the combined bonuses and share incentive awards made during (2010) were excessive.'
Standard Life said changes to the pay policies had followed 'extensive' talks with shareholders and that bonus targets were 'very stretching'.
