Viridor Waste Management, part of the utility company Pennon, has bought a family-ownedrecycling business for £1.7m.

Storm Recycling, which is based in Winsford, Cheshire, and handles between 20,000 and 25,000 tonnes of cardboard and plastic a year, was owned by John Buddle and his wife.
