Rolls-Royce takes £100m thruster orders

 

Rolls-Royce has won announced orders worth over £100m to supply thrusters to propel deepwater drilling vessels for the oil and gas industry.

The ships will be built at shipyards in Asia for a range of owners including Sea Drill, Pacific Drilling, Noble, Ocean Rig and Pride.

The thrusters will propel the vessels to and from sites and keep them in position during drilling.

The orders include options to supply additional thrusters.

Rolls-Royce shares fell 9p to 597.50p.
