Halfords gears up for a strong run with a three-year turnaround plan and a 'summer of cycling' ahead

Car parts-to-bicycles retailer Halfords is gearing up for another strong quarter of trading when reporting sales figures on Thursday.

The group, which is undergoing a three-year turnaround plan, beat annual pre-tax profit forecasts in May with a 1.1 per cent hike in earnings to £72.8million.

And it expects to benefit from a ‘summer of cycling’, which includes the start of the Tour de France in Leeds and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
