Convenience store chain and newsagent McColl's said like-for-like sales were down one per cent in the 14 weeks to November 30 as a result of a slight weakening in trading conditions. Overall sales grew by five per cent year-on-year in the quarter, driven by new store acquisitions and keeping the 1,315-strong store group on course to deliver annual results significantly ahead of a year ago.
