(Sharecast News) - Secure transactions specialist firm Spectra Systems said on Thursday that its security printing division has received a five-year contract to produce definitive postage stamps for a European Union postal stamp supplier.
Spectra said Cartor Security Printers was awarded the contract based on various factors such as quality, environmental impact, price, and its pioneering work in implementing hybrid stamp solutions with 2-D barcode serialisation to significantly reduce losses resulting from counterfeiting and the reuse of stamps.
The AIM-listed group stated contract was with a new customer and was expected to generate between $3.0m and $4.0m over the life of the contract, depending on demand and various options.
Andrew Brigham, Cartor's managing director, said: "We are extremely pleased that this major European postal operator has placed their trust in Cartor to support them with their security printing requirements. A key differentiator in this tender was Cartor's experience in developing and implementing hybrid stamp solutions with 2-D barcode serialisation. "
As of 1155 GMT, Spectra shares were up 2.86% at 211.90p.
