Gambling companies set up new lobbying group

(Sharecast News) - Gambling companies are set to unite in a new trade body to lobby politicians against tougher regulations in the industry.
According to a job advert posted by the recruitment firm Ellwood Atfield, gambling companies are looking to appoint a chair and a chief executive of "largest and most prominent organisation representing the gambling industry".
The new organisation will bring together and replace the two current bodies, the Remote Gambling Association and the Association of British Bookmakers.
A senior industry source had confirmed the shakeup, telling the Guardian: "All of the issues on responsible gambling and tax cut across the industry, so it's time to get lined up a bit better."
The plan comes as the industry faces the latest government regulations that will control the behaviours of the gambling companies and their influence on policy after a series of public scandals.
Many betting firms have recently failed to protect customers from the risks of gambling and failed to prevent money laundering.
