Connecticut-based, United Technologies, provides a broad range of high technology products and support services to the building systems and aerospace industries. The company employs over 200,000 people and divides its operations in to five principal businesses: Carrier, a manufacturer and distributor of commercial and residential heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems and refrigeration equipment; Otis, an elevator and escalator company; Pratt & Whitney and Flight Systems, which includes United's aerospace businesses; and Chubb, a global provider of security and fire protection products and services, acquired in 2003.
