LONDON (ShareCast) - Cairn Energy was a strong performer on Tuesday after the group announced three of its directors had made share purchases.
Simon Thomson, the group's Chief Executive, and Dr Mike Watts, Thomson's Deputy, each purchased 65,965 shares at 150.40p for a total of £99,211.36.
Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer Jann Brown bought a further 16,490 at the same price, spending around £24,800.
The transactions come after the group last week said it had widened its annual losses, reflecting unsuccessful exploration costs and the disposal of assets. The oil and gas explorer posted a loss before tax from continuing operations of $1.1bn in 2013, compared to $194.2m a year earlier.
