LONDON (ShareCast) - US retirement, investments and insurance giant MetLife has announced that it expects fourth quarter earnings to come in at $1.16-1.26 per share, slightly higher than the $1.19 recorded last year and a more optimistic estimate of $1.28 from the market consensus.
For 2012, the company expects earnings per share to grow by 7% to $4.80-5.20. The market consensus estimate is at the upper part of this range at $5.07.
Shares were up 5.51% at $33.51 by 10:42 in New York.
