LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Caledonia Mining confirmed on Tuesday that an accident had taken place at the Blanket Mine in Zimbabwe, which resulted in the death of employee Andrew Clydon Phiri.
The AIM-traded firm said the accident involved a load haul dump (LHD) loader in one of Blanket's underground haulages.
"Further details cannot be released pending the outcome of an ongoing enquiry into this incident by the relevant authorities," the board said in its statement.
"Caledonia expresses its condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased."
At 1257 GMT, shares in Caledonia Mining Corporation were down 4.81% at 890p.
