Zinc Media wins several new TV production commissions

By Josh White

Date: Thursday 25 Oct 2018

LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Zinc Media announced several new international television commissions across its different production businesses on Thursday, with the commissions collectively worth around $6m in revenue to the group.
The AIM-traded company said the "significant majority" of the revenue was expected to fall in the current financial year.

It said its London Documentaries division, run by managing director Greg Sanderson, had been awarded its first series for National Geographic - a six-part history themed production, which had the potential to become a returnable series.

Additionally, following the successful delivery of its film on the Chibok girls in Nigeria - a co-production between the BBC, HBO and Arte - HBO had also commissioned another international feature documentary from Zinc's Documentaries division.

The Specialist Factual division, run by managing director Lucy Van Beek, was also awarded a five-part National Geographic premium content series, which would see filming take place in remote locations across the globe.

"These commissions serve not only to highlight and reinforce our strategy of securing long-running series but also to demonstrate our continued move into delivering premium content to the International market," said Zinc Media chief executive officer David Galan.
