LONDON (ShareCast) - Construction and support services group Carillion has won two contracts worth a combined £200m to provide facilities management services for UK public-sector prisons.
The UK Ministry of Justice, which selected Carillion as the preferred bidder for the five-year contracts back in November 2014, has now signed these deals.
Carillion will provide both "hard and soft" facilities management services to the National Offender Management Service for around 50 prisons.
One contract covers prisons in London and the East of England, and the second will provide services in the South West, South Central, Kent and Sussex.
The contracts, which both have two subsequent one-year extensions subject to performance, will start in June 2015.
Carillion's shares were up 0.8% at 351.2p by 08:13 on Friday.
