Great Western Mining completes West Huntoon drilling

By Josh White

Date: Tuesday 21 Oct 2025

LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Great Western Mining said on Tuesday that it has completed drilling at its West Huntoon copper prospect in Nevada and begun a new programme at the Rhyolite Dome gold target, marking continued momentum in its US exploration campaign.
The AIM-traded firm said the six-hole reverse circulation programme at West Huntoon was completed ahead of schedule and without incident, totalling 3,615 feet.

It said samples from all holes had been sent for laboratory assay, with results expected in the coming weeks.

West Huntoon sits within a mineralised valley system hosting multiple copper prospects within a six-kilometre radius, which Great Western described as highlighting the area's broader potential as an emerging copper district.

Following completion of the copper drilling, the rig was mobilised to the high-priority Rhyolite Dome gold target at the Olympic Gold Project.

The six-hole campaign now underway was testing several shallow anomalies identified by a recent induced polarisation geophysical survey and is expected to conclude during October.

"Our exploration campaign in the Walker Lane Belt continues to gather real momentum," said chairman Brian Hall.

"Completing the West Huntoon programme represents another significant milestone as we systematically test a pipeline of highly prospective targets across our Nevada portfolio.

"Mobilising immediately to Rhyolite Dome keeps our field operations moving at pace and we are excited by the potential of this previously undrilled system."

Hall added that with assay results due in the coming weeks, the company anticipated "a very active quarter" as it advances its Nevada exploration portfolio.

At 1512 BST, shares in Great Western Mining were down 12.31% at 1.71p.
