LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Intellectual property investment group Tekcapital announced on Friday that its portfolio company Lucyd has launched an online store to provide "cutting-edge" spectacles and smart glasses.
The AIM-traded firm said the 'Lucyd eShop' would feature the "latest technologies and trends" in eyewear, including Lucyd-developed smart glasses, designer frames, and other innovations in spectacles.

It said the eShop would provide a combination of "unique benefits" over many eyewear shops, including being able to offer advanced prescription eyewear such as Bluetooth-enabled glasses to connect with smartphones.

The retail offer would feature what the board described as high-technology and fashion forward frames, with a "try-before-you-buy" function using a virtual try-on app.

It would also have the ability to pose eye health questions to a licensed optometrist for free, as well as a loyalty program based on purchases, referrals and Lucyd's "unique LCD token".

Initially, it said the e-commerce offer would offer a range of "fashion forward, prescription eyewear and Bluetooth enabled prescription glasses" as it continued to develop smart glasses, prototypes of which were expected to be available in early 2019.

"We are very excited to announce the launch of our eShop," said Lucyd's media lead Harrison Gross.

"The goal of Lucyd is to upgrade your eyewear, with the style and technology that fits you perfectly.

"We believe our eShop will transform eyeglass shopping into a fun, new experience."
