LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Marine engineering services company James Fisher & Sons said its had won a four year ?35m contract extension to supply its submarine escape and rescue system to the Royal Australian Navy until December 2023.
Fisher's Australian unit, based in Perth, makes and operates untethered rescue vessels which send a mini piloted vehicle to a distressed submarine to rescue the crew on board and transfer them under pressure to the ocean's surface where they are able to receive decompression treatment in a specially-designed hyperbaric equipment suite.
The deal has an option to further extend to November 2024, Fisher said on Friday.
