LONDON (ShareCast) - Three executives at Darty have made the most of the recent falls in the European electrical retailer’s share price by topping up their stakes, just a week after the company revealed that it had swung into the red in the last financial year.

Chairman Alan Park purchased 339,000 shares (equal to 0.06% of the company) at 58.5p each on Monday for a total of £198,315, boosting his stake to 0.08%.

Chief Executive Officer Regis Schultz, who joined the board in April, bought his first holding of 339,000 shares at the same price, giving him a 0.06% interest.

Meanwhile, Non-Executive Director Carlo D'Asaro Biondo bought 25,000 shares for £14,625, leaving him with a 0.0047% holding.

While the stock is up 4.8% so far in 2013, it has fallen by over 15% over the last month.

On June 19th, the company recorded a pre-tax loss during the year ended April 30th as it booked exceptional costs of €115.3m following the closure of Darty Spain.

The group posted a pre-tax loss of €72.5m in the 12 months ended April 30th 2013 compared to a profit of €38.6m a year earlier. On an adjusted basis, the firm reported a pre-tax profit of €26.4m, down from €78.7m previously.

Group revenue fell to €3.8bn during the period compared to €3.9bn the year before.
