LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Balfour Beatty's Gammon joint venture has won a HK$12.9bn (£1.3bn) contract to expand terminal 2 at Hong Kong International airport.
Gammon, a Hong Kong joint venture with Jardine Matheson, will be responsible for increasing the size of the main terminal 2 building and constructing interconnecting bridges, mechanical and electrical works and viaducts and roads.
The four-year agreement is Gammon's second big win from Hong Kong's airport authority in 2020 and its largest contract ever. In the first half the business secured a HK$7.2bn deal to build tunnels for an automated people mover and baggage handling system.
Balfour Beatty shares rose 2% to 240.4p at 08:43 BST.
Leo Quinn, Balfour Beatty's chief executive, said: "Through leveraging wide-ranging engineering expertise and offsite and modular construction approaches Gammon has secured a material share of the Hong Kong market which continues to look favourable with significant infrastructure opportunities ahead."
