LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Engineering solutions provider Senior said on Monday that its Flexonics business has been awarded an additional contract from Bruce Power as a key supplier for their Major Component Replacement (MCR) project.
The latest contract, which is valued at more than $8m, brings the total awards on the project over the past two years to over $18m, Senior said. The majority of project activity is taking place across 2021 and 2022 when final delivery is scheduled.

The scope of the contracts is to supply replacement bellows expansion joints for critical equipment in the primary and secondary circuits for Reactor Units. The work will be performed at the Senior Flexonics facility in Ontario, Canada and Senior Flexonics Pathway facility in Texas, USA.

Mike Sheppard, chief executive officer of Senior Flexonics, said: "We are excited to play a significant role in Bruce Power's MCR project in extending the life of the Bruce Power facility.

"We recognise Bruce Power's leadership in supporting Canada's mandate for clean energy and reduction of its carbon footprint and are privileged to be involved as a key supplier on this important project."

Senior Flexonics provides high technology products and systems for demanding applications in land vehicle, power and energy and adjacent markets.

At 1010 BST, the shares were down 1.7% at 151.40p.

Senior shares tumbled last week after it confirmed it had rejected a £738m takeover proposal from US private equity firm Lone Star.
