To provide investors with a reasonable level of income whilst retaining the potential for capital growth. The Fund is split roughly 50 / 50 between equities and bonds, though a small allocation to property further enhances diversification between asset classes.

Future Expectations

Within equities we continue to tilt our exposure up the cap scale - large cap biased Threadneedle UK Equity Alpha Income is a core holding. Volatility remains a key characteristic of markets and we are encouraged by the ongoing contribution made by BlackRock UK Absolute Alpha in dampening overall volatility and generating positive returns against a backdrop of falling equity markets.Within fixed income we continue to favour investment grade credit and look to ensure our overall bond exposure is balanced across sectors, especially given the heavy financials bias across many fixed income portfolios. The recent introduction of M&G Strategic Bond was prompted by its light representation among financials and impressive track record.
