LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - London's FTSE 250 was 0.31% lower at 19,134.998 in afternoon trade on Wednesday, as PureTech Health led the index lower.
Shopping centre owner Hammerson was knocked lower by a downgrade from 'outperform' to 'sector perform' by analysts at RBC Capital Markets, who cited valuation concerns.

Analysts also worried that the current loss of demand-supply tension in UK retail property markets could continue to dent the operating performance of shopping centre landlords in the near-term, irrespective of the quality of their properties and operating platforms.

Up at the other end of the index, private healthcare services company Mediclinic rose after saying it expected to report an increase in interim core earnings now that its Swiss business ha adjusted to regulatory changes and after revenue from its Southern African operations climbed by around 7%.

Pub and brewery owner Marston's recovered ground after falling during the previous session when it said it expected to report a fall in pre-tax profits due to lower earnings at its destination and premium businesses where higher wage costs hit margins.

Analysts from Liberum commented that the stock remained inexpensive and reiterated their 'buy' rating due to its 93% freehold asset backing and strong yield, but also voiced concern at the lack of progress seen in debt reduction efforts.

Finally, Domino's Pizza Group was also in the green ahead of the release of a trading update on Thursday.
