LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Pub group Marston's said it had secured a waiver against any breach of its funding agreements that might arise as a result of the government coronavirus lockdown that has closed bars and restaurants.
The waiver has been granted until 29 May with an automatic extension to 15 June 2020 in certain circumstances, the company said on Monday, adding that it was also reviewing whether it needed to consult with bondholders about further covenant waivers.

Marston's said the timescale on how and when "the current state of much reduced social activity can be relaxed and pubs allowed to re-open" remained unclear. The government has come under pressure to reveal its plans for an exit strategy as Britons were ordered to stay indoors until the end of April at the earliest.
