LONDON (ShareCast) - (ShareCast News) - Edenville Energy was front and centre of Tanzanian television on Tuesday night, with the company receiving the Mining Licence for its Rukwa coal deposit from Minister of Energy and Minerals, Professor S Muhongo, in a broadcast ceremony in Dar es Salaam.
The AIM-traded company developing a coal-to-power project in south west Tanzania expected the licence to be formally released during the week of 28 February, after minor administrative tasks were completed.
"We are delighted that the Mining Licence for our Rukwa coal deposit has been granted. We would particularly like to thank Professor S Muhongo and his Tanzanian government colleagues for the help and support they have provided," said Edenville CEO Rufus Short.
"They have expressed the strong desire to see Edenville start producing coal in the second half of this year and have indicated their full support to progressing our Coal to Power Project to completion," he added.
