LONDON (ShareCast) - Biomass fuel and timber supplier Active Energy has won deals worth about 24m US dollars to provide wood chip to two Turkish fibre-board manufacturers, lifting its shares.
Active will supply about 228,000 tonnes of chip in the next year, deliveries of which have already started from the company's port facilities on the Black Sea in Ukraine.
The group said the deals meant it had already made significant inroads into meeting forecast volumes of Black Sea shipments for 2015.
Talks with other major Turkish producers are at an advanced stage and the company voiced confidence about securing more contracts soon.
The shares rose 0.7p to 2.5p in afternoon trading in London.
