LONDON (ShareCast) - (ShareCast News) - Floorcoverings distributor Headlam appointed Steve Wilson chief executive on Wednesday, with immediate effect.
Wilson, who had been group finance director since 1991, replaced Tony Brewer who stepped down after 16 years.
The Birmingham-based company said Wilson brings "not only an in depth knowledge of the group's operations and financials but also a strong skill-set for the future development of the business".
Chairman Dick Peters added that Brewer made an "enormous contribution to the building of Headlam into Europe's leading floor-covering distributor".
The AIM-listed company has launched a recruitment process for a new chief financial officer and until an appointment is made Wilson will maintain oversight of the finances.
Headlam also announced that the commercial director of the Coleshill and Tamworth businesses, Tony Judge, who has been with the company for over 24 years, was appointed chief operating officer.
It said in its August interim results: "Our market appears to be robust and, subject to the key trading period in the run-up to Christmas, the board remains confident of achieving full year expectations."
Shares in Headlam were down 1.02% to 462.25p at 1257 BST.
