LONDON (ShareCast) - Cycling superstar Mark Cavendish has taken a stake in recently-listed sports drink maker Science in Sport (SiS) as part of a three-year consultancy deal.
The agreement starts in January and will see him help with and provide insight into the development of new sports nutrition products. SiS said 'Manx Missile' Cavendish would also participate in marketing initiatives and continue to use SiS products in training and professional racing, joining fellow Olympic cycling hero and SiS brand ambassador Sir Chris Hoy.
He has chosen to receive 134,250 shares as part of his consultancy fee.
Chief Executive Stephen Moon said: “We look forward to his input in the development of new products for both amateur and professional athletes and to his endorsement of SiS as a leading brand in sports nutrition.”
Shares in Science in Sport, which listed on Aim last month, were flat at 78.75 at 09:02 on Thursday.
