LONDON (ShareCast) - Ted Baker’s finance boss Lindsay Page has slashed his holding in the fashion retailer, pocketing £2m in the process.

He offloaded 250,000 shares at 800p a pop, but still has nearly 44,000, or about 0.1% of the company.

Ted Baker has been doing well despite the tough economic climate; the shares have climbed by more than 50% over the past year.

Last month, the company announced a 15.2% increase in revenue for the 19 weeks between 30 January and 11 June.

Retail sales were up 9.4% on the same period last year and the company managed to increase its total shop floor space by 4.4%.

The firm has also opened new stores in Manchester, Paris and Hong Kong and concessions at department stores in the US, Spain and Portugal. It intends to continue expanding internationally.

“Looking forward into the second half of the year we plan to open new stores in the UK, New Zealand, China and America, whilst maintaining our focus on design, quality and attention to detail which underpin the core strengths of the Ted Baker brand,” founder and chief executive Ray Kelvin said.

Page, 52, joined Ted Baker as finance director in 1997.
