LONDON (ShareCast) - (ShareCast News) - Designer and manufacturer of medical technology Surgical Innovations Group announced on Wednesday that its new laparoscopic port access system, YelloPort Elite, has attained CE certification.
The AIM-traded firm said YelloPort Elite utilises proprietary 'Resposable' technology to address the continuing need for high quality cost effective solutions within laparoscopic surgery.

It said the key advantage of the YelloPort Elite product is the 'Universal Seal', which allows for seamless introduction of 5mm to 12mm instruments during the surgical procedure.

Clinical evaluations have produced excellent results, the board said, and the company is "delighted" with the feedback from both surgeons and hospital personnel.

"We are extremely pleased to have attained CE certification for our YelloPort Elite range which strengthens our portfolio," said managing director Melanie Ross.

"The certification means that we have a next generation port access system, which we believe will make a difference to surgeons and we look forward to launching the product in the UK within the coming month, before branching out into Europe shortly afterwards."
