LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Information systems and transport technical services company Journeo has received purchase orders for the supply of its advanced public transport information systems from a Northern transport partnership, it announced on Friday.
The AIM-traded firm said the purchase orders, worth £1.3m in total, were part of the second tranche of the Transforming Cities Fund, announced on 10 December.
It said they included the supply of its latest double-sided thin-film transistor (TFT) display systems.
About £1m was expected to be delivered in the current financial year, the board said.
"We are delighted to be working with this forward-looking transport partnership and help them realise their vision of a modern, efficient and increasingly more sustainable public transport information systems estate," said chief executive officer Russ Singleton.
"These new displays systems equipped with remote condition monitoring extend the core platform for our content management software which was delivered during last year as part of the £1.9m award announced in February 2020.
"Our innovative design approach reduces the need for periodic maintenance visits which not only reduces travel and associated pollution, but importantly, reduces whole life cycle costs for our customers."
At 1315 GMT, shares in Journeo were up 14% at 57p.
