LONDON (ShareCast) - (ShareCast News) - Software Radio Technology was looking to sell a large number of their Automatic Identification System (AIS) transceivers in Qatar.
Qatar's Ministry of Transport announced that all local vessels were now required to be fitted with an AIS transceiver.
Following the announcement, Software Radio Technology, which provides maritime domain awareness technologies, received an order from its regional partner for deployment in Qatar.
It was the company's understanding that the total requirement under the new mandate would be for up to 5,000 transceivers.
Chief executive Simon Tucker said they were pleased with the decision.
"[We] look forward to working with them and our regional partner as the mandate is implemented."
