LONDON (ShareCast) - Beazley's Group Finance Director, Martin Bride, on Tuesday sold all 37,500 shares that vested under the specialist insurance company's April 2009 plan.

Bride, who joined the group that year, sold the shares at 243.75p each, generating £91,406.

The company delivered an impressive performance in 2013 and at the publication of its results expressed confidence in its outlook. The results themselves revealed a 25% jump in full-year pretax profits, which came on the back of a strong underwriting performance and a quiet year for catastrophe related loss claims.

Pretax profits for its year to December 2013 jumped to $313.3m, up from $251.2m a year earlier. Net premiums written by the company - an expert in marine, casualty and property insurance - grew 9% to $1.68bn. Net insurance claims, meanwhile, fell 8% to $719m.
