LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Iodine and speciality chemicals company Iofina announced the incorporation and launch of a subsidiary company on Monday - IofinaEX Global Inc.
The AIM-traded firm said the subsidiary would specialise in the production of hemp-derived products in Central America and the Caribbean, for export into the United States and internationally.
"Our understanding of specialty chemical products presents us with an opportunity to use our pedigree and expertise to expand into the rapidly growing hemp market," said Iofina president and chief executive officer Dr Tom Becker.
"We work closely with regulatory authorities in the US to ensure all our products conform with the strictest regulatory frameworks in specialty chemicals."
Dr Becker said the regulatory knowledge that the company had acquired gave it an "unparalleled perspective" on helping the emerging hemp market develop and operate in the Central American and Caribbean regions, to comply within the strict laws and security safeguards internationally, and particularly in the US.
"IofinaEX Global looks forward to working alongside a government that is keen to develop its country as the hub for the exportation of hemp-derived products in Central America and the Caribbean.
"We will be making further announcements on our progress in due course."
