Kazera upbeat on most recent work at Namibia Tantalite mine

By Josh White

Date: Wednesday 07 Aug 2019

LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Kazera Global announced an update to its Tantalite Valley Project exploration programme on Wednesday, including initial drilling results for the White City Pegmatite and additional results from channel sampling at Purple Haze.
The AIM-traded company, through its stake in African Tantalum (Aftan), has an interest in the Namibia Tantalite Investment Mine in Namibia.

It said the results were an "important step" towards expanding the high-grade mineral at Homestead and Purple Haze, explaining that they would guide the second phase exploration step-out drilling, which was expected to delineate further mineral resources.

An update to the mineral resource estimate, which would include all of the first phase drilling results, was anticipated before the end of the year.

Kazera, with technical input from MSA Group, said it was planning a second phase programme of around 2,000 meters of drilling, aimed at delineating further mineralisation at the White City, Homestead and Purple Haze projects and testing potential mineralised zones at Signaalberg.

The Tantalite Valley pegmatites were said to be "highly prospective", with only a fraction of the potential mineralised area being drill tested to date.

At Purple Haze, Kazera said the channel sample grades confirmed the "particularly high" concentrations of lepidolite mineralisation observed at surface on the eastern slope outcrop area, up to 1.81% lithium oxide over three metres.

Four holes had recently been completed at Purple Haze - two short holes to obtain representative samples on the eastern slope area, and two with the aim of extending the mineral resource westwards down-dip from the current mineral resource area.

Visible tantalite and lepidolite occured in all four holes, the company reported, with the sample assays expected before the end of 2019.

An update to the mineral resource estimate, which would include the extended area, was expected before the end of 2019.

Kazera said significant intersections at Purple Haze included five metres at 285 parts per million tantalum pentoxide, and 1.62% lithium oxide, in channel sample section LP05 at surface, and three metres at 506 parts per million tantalum pentoxide and 1.81% lithium oxide in channel sample section LP06 at surface.

At White City, Kazera said the intersections were close to surface, and had confirmed mineralisation intersected in historical drilling by previous operators.

The first phase of drilling at White City was expected to be completed within the current quarter, with the board expecting to report a maiden mineral resource in the fourth quarter.

It said significant intersections at White City included one metre at 322 parts per million tantalum pentoxide in drillhole DHWC03, from 8.93 metres to 9.93 metres; two metres at 1,027 parts per million tantalum pentoxide from 3.86 metres to 5.86 metres and 3.66 metres 237 parts per million tantalum pentoxide from 6.86 metres to 10.52 metres in drillhole DHWC05; and 2.01 metres at 692 parts per million tantalum pentoxide from 7.12 metres to 9.13 metres and 283 parts per million tantalum pentoxide from 9.55 metres to 16.57 metres in drillhole DHWC08.

The board explained that the significant intercepts for lithium were based on a minimum sample grade of 500 parts per million lithium, a minimum length of 0.5 metres and maximum internal dilution length of 0.5 metres.

It added that the significant intercepts for tantalum were based on a minimum sample grade of 50 parts per million tantalum, as well as a minimum sample length of 0.5 metres and maximum internal dilution length of 0.5 metres.

"We are very pleased with the initial drilling results at White City and additional results from channel sampling at Purple Haze, of which sample grades confirm the particularly high concentrations of lepidolite mineralisation at the site," said Kazera chief executive officer Larry Johnson.

"These additional results are an important step towards expanding the high-grade mineral at Homestead and Purple Haze and will enable us to set out the second phase exploration step-out drilling which we expect to delineate further mineral resources across the property.

"We look forward to the completion of first phase drilling at White City to be completed within the quarter and expect to report a maiden mineral resource for White City in the fourth quarter of 2019."
