LONDON (ShareCast) - A couple of hefty share purchases from directors in AIM-listed Toumaz sent the 'internet of things' company's shares flying on Thursday.

Chief Executive Anthony Sethill bought £48,450 worth of shares at 3.23p, while Chairman Sir Richard Steeves topped that by shelling out £420,050 at 3.88p and mostly 3.05p.

Toumaz had put out an encouraging set of final results on Monday, when Sethill cited a "key year" in the company's development, adding that "the building blocks for growth are now firmly in place".

Toumaz's ultra-low power wireless technology have a wide range of potential applications, with the company so far focusing on products in healthcare monitoring and digital audio, with deals signed last year with Spotify and Imagination Technologies.

Its wireless healthcare division earlier in March extended the sales reach of its SensiumVitals vital signs monitor to 12 countries, with a highly experienced direct sales force recruited for what the company sees as a "game changer" for patient safety and healthcare economics.

The share purchases drew investor attention to management's bullishness, and the share price had leapt 20% to 4.5p by 15:00 on Thursday.
