LONDON (ShareCast) - The Finance Director of Xaar Group this week acquired an additional 4,610 shares, boosting his stake by around a tenth.

Alex Bevis, who joined the company three years ago, spent 850.61p on each of the shares, spending a total of £39,213.

His purchase comes just a week after the group cautioned that growth was likely to be more modest in the current financial year after they last year doubled on the back of strong sales.

The group also announced that long-standing Chief Executive Ian Dinwoodie planned to retire in 2015, although he assured investors that the search for a successor had already begun and that he remain fully committed to continuing the development of the company until then.

Pre-tax profits jumped 123% to £41.1m, as operating margins strengthened from 21.1% to 30.4% on sales up 55% to £134.1m. Earnings rose 115% to 43.2p and the dividend was doubled to 8p per share.
