LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - Solid-state batteries developer Ilika said on Tuesday that it had been successful in managing operational risks posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and has now recommenced operational activities at the University of Southampton.
Ilika kept its headquarters in Romsey open throughout the entire lockdown in order to support staff who needed access to its Goliath large-format cell development facilities and stated its employees had not experienced any potentially Covid-19 related sickness since March.
The AIM-listed group said its Stereax pilot line for miniature cells at the University of Southampton had re-opened, with the group also deploying similar practices at the facility to those used successfully at its headquarters.
Ilika also confirmed that its had not received any order cancellations and its expectations for 2021 remained unchanged.
Chief executive Graeme Purdy said: "Our proactive approach to managing the operational risks posed by Covid-19 have been successful to date.
"We intend to remain vigilant to the risks and are working with our customers, partners and suppliers to ensure we implement our business strategy as effectively as possible."
As of 0935 BST, Ilika shares were up 6.12% at 52.0p.
